KIRIRA
The month of February has been dedicated to NGOs and we have hosted a lecturette by KIRIRA. This Foundation is an independent, Development Non-Governmental Organisation (NGDO) whose main objective is the eradication of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and other forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Its members have been working for more than 15 years on the field, fighting for the right to health and education for all girls and young women in Kenya. Kirira is headquartered in Tomelloso, Ciudad Real (Castilla La Mancha) and carries out awareness-raising and social action activities throughout the country. As part of these activities, the President, Mª Estrella Giménez Buiza, visited us with part of the Spanish team and three collaborators from Kenya: Angela, Purity and Helen. They started their studies within the sponsorship programme and are now graduates.
